Frequently Asked Questions

HOW DO I CARE FOR MY FLOWERS?

Once you have received your beautiful, new Lilac Green flowers, unwrap them as soon as possible, preferably over a sink, as there is a water source at the bottom of the wrap.

  • Try to ensure the tie around the stems stays intact as this is what is holding your design in place.
    It will also make your flowers more manageable when you want to change the water of your vase.
    If you wish to have a looser, more wild arrangement - feel free to cut it.

  • Re-cut the stems with sharp, clean scissors at a 45° angle and place in fresh water mixed with the flower food provided by Lilac Green in your gift card.

  • Ensure that the water level is kept at least as high as where the stems are tied (as some stems are shorter than others). But a good rule of thumb is about 1-2 inches from the top of your vase.

  • Top up your water daily - your flowers will drink a lot! Try to change your water daily but at very least every 2nd day.

  • Re-cut your stems every 3rd day - this helps to ‘reopen’ the stem so that your flowers can take up as much water as needed. Remove any dead or decaying flowers as you see them - this will help the other flowers last longer and keep your arrangement looking lovely for as long as possible.

  • It is important to remember that flowers are a perishable, natural product that will react to their immediate indoor environment and external weather conditions. Try to keep them as cool as possible! Away from heaters, direct sunlight and fruit.

If your flowers are arranged in to a ceramic or metal vessel, they may be in floral foam to which you will just need to add water (mixed with your flower food) every second day. To check this, place your finger in to the arrangement to see whether it needs a top up of water - if you can feel water or if the foam is very wet - then wait another day before watering. The bigger the arrangement the more water it will need.

DO YOU HAVE A SIZE GUIDE I CAN SEE?

We understand it can be hard to visualise how big your bouquet or arrangement will be, particularly if you haven’t ordered through us before.
Every single arrangement we create is totally unique - even if it is the same colours, flowers, price point and made on the same day, by the same person!
This is why we prefer not to have a size guide as we don’t do “flowers by numbers”. To us, that feels more like a product than the art we are trying to create for you. We don’t want to promise something we cant deliver if it doesn’t work with the design of your arrangement.
We can promise that our arrangements are always lush, full of flowers, fresh and great value!

I SAW A BOUQUET I LOVE ON INSTAGRAM, CAN I HAVE ONE EXACTLY THE SAME?

We will do our absolute best to create something similar to an arrangement you have seen online. However, it most likely won’t be exactly the same. The flowers you have seen may not be available at the markets or in season and every bouquet we create is unique in design. We can create something beautiful with similar colours, flowers and vibe using your picture as inspiration.

WHAT DAYS DO YOU DELIVER?

We currently offer flower delivery Tuesday to Friday. Our weekends are reserved for events and weddings.
If your order is placed by 10:00am (Brisbane time) we are happy to offer same day delivery.

We will make every effort to deliver on your chosen day, however, in some cases this cannot be guaranteed. Lilac Green will contact you as soon as possible should we not be able to deliver on your specified date and try to organise alternative accommodations.

DO YOU HAVE A MINIMUM SPEND FOR DELIVERY?

Yes, we do. The minimum spend on flowers and gifts for delivery $85 (plus delivery fee).

DO YOU OFFER SAME-DAY DELIVERY?

If your order is placed by 10:00am (Brisbane time) we are happy to offer SAME DAY delivery.
Anytime after this, please call, text or email us to confirm whether we can deliver your order the same day and if stock is available. We would love to help you out!

DO YOU DELIVER OUTSIDE OF BRISBANE?

Our couriers are limited to Brisbane at the moment. We hope to offer outside of Brisbane deliveries soon. Please feel free to contact us and we will do our best to help!


CAN I PICK UP FROM YOU?

We do not have a physical store you can come to as we work from our home studio located on the North side of Brisbane.
We can occasionally organise a collection time for certain events or occasions, however, this would need to be booked in at a minimum of 2 days notice and directly approved by us.

WHY HAVE YOUR PRICES CHANGED SINCE LAST YEAR?

Like everyone else at the moment, we are all feeling the pinch of the rising prices of literally everything. In the past year, wholesale flower prices have risen by 80% and that doesn’t take in to account labour, rent and all the other small business overheads.
In turn, our prices need to reflect this.
We can no longer afford to absorb these rising costs without compromising the integrity of our product, which is of the utmost importance to us.

CAN I CHANGE MY ORDER?

If you wish to alter your order or subscription, please do so by contacting us at info@lilacgreen.com.au. We'll always do our best to make last-minute changes for you, but we can only guarantee changes (including to the delivery address and in relation to card messages) with 24 hours notice.

 CAN I CANCEL MY ORDER?

You can cancel single orders by giving us no less than 24 hours notice prior to the requested delivery date. We will only give a full refund if we have not started the preparation of your order at the time notice is given. Lilac green is unable to cancel orders that have already been made or are in transit.

The easiest way to cancel your order is to call or email us.

HOW DO I PAY?

Once you have placed your order in our online shop, you will be prompted to pay via PayPal or through our secure checkout system using Stripe with your debit or credit card. We also take credit cards for phone orders.
Alternatively, you may pay via bank transfer if you choose to contact us directly.

WHAT IF I HAVE A COMPLAINT?

Please let us know within 24 hours of receiving your flowers if there are any issues. A photo of the flowers must be provided to Lilac Green to assess the condition.

Receivers must follow the care instructions given in our FAQs section above.

Unfortunately, we cannot resend another arrangement of fresh flowers if the original delivery has been disposed of without first being assessed by Lilac Green.
